White Ranch hike with Rachel

Awesome! loop hike along the outer perimeter of this Jeffco open space park. Spring conditions with lush greenery and 3+ hours of rumbling cloud to cloud lightning. Even had a 20 minute bout of hail before we got down off the highlands and relieved our anxiety.

Hall Ranch hike - 10 miles

Windy, snowy, no people. Perfect.

Lumpy Ridge Loop - 14 miles

A late fall hike around the iconic granite ridge. First time driving up past Lyons since the devastating September floods. Wow. The place got trashed.

SoBo and Bear Peaks via Shadow Canyon

Staunton State Park Hike

Checked out this new park by hiking ALL 16 miles of its bike trails. Nice place! Awesome trail work. Will be a frat place for Racph to ride. Talking to Kelly while she waits for her flight out of Arceta back to Phoenix.

Vasquez Peak Hike

Escaping the Boulder front range, Rach and I headed to Rt 40 and the Jones Pass Rd area.

Neva Peak ridge hike

With Alex and Evan. Early start to avoid the tstorms. Got to the trailhead at 7:30. Already way too many cars and people...sheesh, this place is turning into California... Hit the ridge by 8:40 just as the first puffers were forming. Early even for these parts...by the time we got past Neva, we were in the clouds and could just make out the eastern upslope starting to force to some convection. We decided to be wise and cut down the first accessible drainage. That was fun! Lots of glissading and a fine time following the creek down and then traversing on the north slopes over to the main trail (right near the turn off for Arapahoe Peak). That was a fun loop if you don't have all day to the full ridge hike past Diamond Lake.

Saturday AM hike with Rach. Storming in the mnts by 10:30 already today!

Coulson Gulch Loop

This time we looped it counter clockwise which is the way to go if you're going to ride it. S nice! We counted over 34 wild flowers in bloom. And hardly anyone on the trails. Perfect. We explored the old road that traverses west at the bottom of 'Columbine' Gulch above the raging St Vrain. We didn't quite make it to where a trail comes down to cross the river. Maybe next time.
