Allenspark NatForest Road rambles

Shuttled Kelly and her school gang up to Allenspark for outdoor ed on Sat and Sun. Both days I took a few hours to explore some of the tracks in the woods up there. Still a bit snowy at 9,000+ft but the benies to that is that there are few people around. Saturday I drove from Meeker Park down County RD82 to the west end of Big Elk Meadows up to where I was thwarted by private property. Then I took the bike off the rack and road up a gated Forest Service road up towards House Rock for 4 miles until the snow got too deep.

On Sunday, I hit up Bunce School Road, which goes for Allenspark to Peaceful Valley. I did about 8 miles round trip on pretty decent but muddy and snowy road. There's some neat rock formations back there, the Ironclads, I think is what they're called.
