Isabel/Lookout Loop - 1hr20min, 26miles

A Monday escape from work.

Eldo/75th/Isabel/Baseline/NCAR - 1hr55min, 36miles

Solo Saturday ride. Bad calf cramp on the way back! The hot tub felt good afterwards.

Niwot Loop, clockwise - 50min, 17miles

Yahoo! Clocked 42mph heading east on that gentle downhill/uphill stretch on the west end of Niwot. Those same gusts had me gripping the handlebar with full force to keep me from getting knocked into the ditch. Finished up via Gunbarrel and the airport road instead heading into the open sweep of the Diagonal.

Steamboat Yurt Weekend

Image
Stayed at Christian and Laura's yurt for Fri-Sun night. Snowy road drive Friday (4hours) to get there. 10k track ski on Sat, resort skiing on Sunday, 4mile backcountry loop (Loop-A) off Rabit Ears Pass road. Daytime temps never got above 10F the whole weekend, but the sun felt warm. The girls are ANIMALS! and kept up with us all weekend.

Out and back work run - 3miles

Mellow short run in the snow.

Work loop run - 5miles

A lonely day (Martin Luther) with a nice escape for a lunchtime run in the light snow.

Backcountry ski, Brainard Lake - 6miles

Took the kiddos on the Lefthand Res/Little Raven/CMC loop. Great snow cover! They did awesome on the downhill stretches even Leah on skinny boards.

Loveland boarding and teleing

Drove up with Dan and hooked up with Woody for a full day split between boarding and teleing.

Diagonal/Mineral/287/Valmont - 25miles

Ugh. Not a good day. Lead the way up the first 3rd and the main climb but bombed shortly afterwards along 287. Got whacked for not slowing down in windy hand-off of pulling. Bah humbug. Such is life. I was slowing down just fine. Ironically, just as I dropped to the back of the pack (since I was getting berated for not slowing down), I pretty much hit a wall. I gave blood on Monday and I think I just maxed out my hemoglobin. I could hardly crack 18mph after that. What a mess. I think I'll bike on my own for the next week or two and get myself back up to speed.

Niwot Loop, clockwise, via Reservoir - 50min, 17miles

Fun solo ride with blue skies and a nice breeze over an open reservoir. Would have been a nice day for a sail!

Eldora Teleing

Family day to Eldora. First of the season. Met Alex and the boys up on top of Corona.

Niwot/Olde Stage loop - 25miles

First group ride of 2006. A pleasant mellow pace with a sprint to the top.

Copper Teleing

Family day with traffic and long lines.

SoBo/Erie/Hygien/Lyons/36 - 45+miles

Another solo ride with some distance. Windy! Going 15 where I would normally be going 21mph. But fun and well worth the effort.
