Tuesday NCAR ride: Niwot/Olde Stage Loop - 1hr10min, 23miles

Didn't try to keep up with the front. Rode with Kay and hooked up with Bill. Nice day to be out!

Bear Mountain - 2.5hrs

A fast-paced huff up Bear via Bear Canyon and the West Ridge trail. Thought for sure that I would get stormed on before getting to the top but things dried out a bit and the menacing clouds started thinning by noon.

NCAR Up the Hill Race - 6min38sec

Oh yeah! Beat my Wed time for the official ride. But darn it, Heidi got the competitive groove on and beat me by 4 seconds. Next year...

NCAR Hill Climb practice

Youch! My legs hurt. Worked from home and met Jose, Heidi and Kay up on the NCAR road. Jose wanted to do repeats. My first run was about all she wrote for me. Got it in 6min43sec. I think that's pretty good. We'll see on Friday. I was a wreck on the second try, over 8 minutes...

NCAR Ride: Lee Hill from the south with Olde Stage - 1hr15min, 23 miles

Yahoo! Kept up on this one. I love climbing. I was a minute or two behind the top dogs on the main climb, right up front down the canyon and with them again on the top of Olde Stage.

Desolation and Gray Canyons Raft Trip

August 12-19 on the river. Low water at 1700cfs with a slight drop over the course of the week. We went with the Blum's and had a nice little flotilla of 3 duckies, a hardshell and 2 rafts. Great fun!

Flagstaff Summit and Mile5 - 1.5hr, 20miles

Early AM ride before heading out to Deso/Gray. The van is packed and ready to roll. And my legs are nice and tired for the drive. Saw loads of deer and a fox running along the road. Nice.

Olde Stage counter clockwise - 1hr, 18miles

Speedy ride with Jose over lunch. My only NCAR ride this week. With Madison last week and Deso/Gray next, I'm losing my edge. It'll take me a few weeks later in August to get back up to speed.

Coal Creek Canyon/Nederland/Boulder Canyon - 52 miles

Killer loop down Rt93 - which isn't bad, only 1 mile with a small shoulder - then up Coal Creek to Wondervu. 20 miles to the top from home. A nice schuss down the switchbacks to Pinecliff then rollee pollee to Ned. I never got below 30 mph in Boulder Canyon.
