Niwot Loop, counter clockwise

Need to keep getting out. Haven't hit this one in this direction in ages. Very nice. Hard grade up to 36 though!

Rock Club w/Rach

This is the second session at the gym with Rachel. Need to get in shape to make our March road trip to Vegas and JTree a worthy experience. No more wimpering on 5.9 :-)

Eldora - teleing with the girls

One of those "great to live in Boulder" days: we slept in 'till 8 but still had plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast before heading up the canyon at 10 for a good day of skiing. It snowed on and off all day, and that on top of 4-6 inches of fresh stuff. Noice! A bit too wet and windy on the Corona side but we had good fun taking on the front of the mountain. If the lifts weren't so slow, this place would really do the job. But, can't complain. It's close and it still makes for a fun day with the girls.

Steamboat Springs Yurt'in it!

An excellent 3 days of playing (and shuffling snow!) at Christian and Laura's yurt. We took off late Sat. AM for a pleasant drive over Berthoud Pass. The yurt was waiting for us - in that it was waiting for us to come and save it from the piles of snow on its roof! Over 4 feet of the stuff was packed around and on top of it. Many hours of shuffling over the course of the 3 days relieved it of its burden. I have never moved so much snow before in my life. We skied at the resort on Sunday. No legendary champagne powder but still great coverage and with the warm temps, a great day. The girls are really getting their swing on making sweeping turns on all sorts of terrain. Sunday, after a long round of shuffling the yurt free of its last piles of snow, we visited with Christine, Laura and Sophia before heading up to Rabbit Ears West for a backcountry ski. The temps dropped and the route was longer than expected and we started later than we wanted to. Got back to the car just as the sun

Nelson Loop, 23 miles

Spring is coming!! Warm, sunny and a perfect day for a long lunch ride. Got the ski legs cranking today. The burn area along 36 looks pretty tame with snow on it. Not like the fiery inferno of last week.

Winter Park with Leah

Leah and I busted out for the day, hitting up WPark for a fine day of skiing. There's an awesome new lift to the top of the mountain over from Sunnyside on up. Excellent access to tree skiing. Gotta go back on a day with warmer temps - it was near 0F! We spent a bit too much time over on the green flats of the far north on the Winter park side. The snow was pretty good but they could use another dumpr or two to really fill things in.

Florida!!!

Another week in the subtropical southern penis of the US. Flew into Miami on a late flight and spent a couple of days in Miami Beach in Joe and Yoly's apartment. Ohhh, very nice. The beach is just unreal for being in the midst of the metropolis. Way nice. We hung out an Sat. and I got a few hours of windsurfing in on Sunday (the girls walked the beach) before heading up to Jupiter. We spent Mon-Fri there, with walks on the beach, a bit of kayaking, and some good eating. Rachel headed home on Jan 1 to do her holiday duty at work. The girls and I headed to Miami again on Sat to spend time with Joe and Yoly and slept at the apartment again since our Sun AM flight was at 7:30. Can't wait to head back to Miami Beach! Awesome location with lots to see and do.
