Heil Ranch Mtn biking - 8+ miles

A nice after work romp up the newly cleaned Wapiti Trail and then the longer upper loop, Wild Turkey Trail. A gusty blustery late afternoon with sprinkles and few people.

Gates of Lodore Float - Sept 20-24

A very relaxing 5 days on the river. George K's permit with Eric, Hurricane, Jan, Roxie, Pete, and DanR. Flows were between 1550-2400 all week. A bit rainy and cool on the Sunday launch but the sun started hitting again on Monday and played through the streaming clouds the rest of the week.

Nelson counter clockwise - 25.5miles, 21mph

A cranker today! Perfect weather: still and temps in the low 70's. Yahoo!! A great escape from work.

Green Mnt hike with the girlies

Had a fun and casual hike up Green from the northwest ridge. Stopped along the way to take a timelapse series of the sea of clouds over the plains. Really neat and rare to have such a low cloud bank for an extended time period over Boulder. Two other highlights: there were thousands of ladybugs along the ridge top! and I flashed my favorite boulder problem along the trail (Ramp Rock).

Niwot/95th/Isabelle - 23miles, 20mph

66F nice a cool and fast. But the cars, the cars on the Diagonal and 95th really get to you after a few miles. I always imagine that this would be a preview to an across the continent ride where interstates would have to be used. Got a flat in the rear a few miles from the end. Haven't had one those in a long while.

From 2009_09 Holy Cross Hike Rach and I hiked the Cross Creek/Falls Creek loop in the Holy Cross Wilderness. While the girls spent the long Labor Day weekend in Breckenridge with the Showman's, we worked our way counter-clockwise around the Mount of the Holy Cross Ridge. Awesome scenery pretty much the whole way around. Hit the links to the photo album for more... From 2009_09 Holy Cross Hike

Once around the Reservoir

An after-work paddle around about the res. Rolled the old banana again too. Nice how these old cigar shaped boats come around with hardly a snap - just roll that head back and around and up you are. The water level us getting reaaallly low. Old Butterfly is sitting many feet up high and dry from the water line.

Hit 5000miles on the odo today!

About 1200 of those miles were on the steel greeny meeny. The rest on the carbon Giant. Fun! I could have made it across the country with those miles.

Old Stage/Niwot - 22.5 miles, 18mph

Hot and smokey! Fires from LA are spewing smoke and its blanketing the Front Range. 84F but the sun is obscured so not too bad. Climbed hard and fast - those legs are happy right now. Niwot was the usual fast ramble heading east.
