Coney Flats Ski

A 6.6miles, 3 up 3 down ski on a clear warm day to test the girls' tele gear for an upcoming hut trip. All went well and the Flats were a great place to hang out in the sun and play on the clear ice.

Rock Club

Left work at 2:30 to get a forearm pump with Rach and the Rock Club. I can still climb easy 10's but those forearms pump out quick!! Too much focus on riding and legs for this climbing business.

Around the Res lunch ride

A shortish, coolish ride on the old fixed fork Trek around the reservoir.

Bear Mnt Hike with Rachel

An icy trail leading up and down Bear Mnt via Fern Canyon, the West Ridge and Bear Canyon. Yaktrax were key to keeping it easy for me while Rach suffered with slippery boots and hiking poles. Bought her a pair of trax right after the hike :-)

Friday escape to Copper Mnt teleing

Hooked up with Phil; haven't seen him in year! A decent day teleing and gabbing at Copper. Here's a map of some of our after lunch runs: View Copper With Phil in a larger map Generated that with My Tracks on the Droid. Pretty nifty free app!s

Eldora telemarking with the girls

MLK Day on the slopes of Eldora. Again, surprised how good the snow actually is during this El Nino January draught. the girsl are just rocking! Swing turns, Waddling, speeding along in the trees, etc. Rachel was on her alpine gear for the first time in ages, hoping to save here knees and she did grand.

Forest Lake backcountry ski with Rachel

Finally got into the backcountry in the Indian Peaks again. After booking a boat for spring break, we left Boulder after 9 for a late start drive up to the Rollins Tunnel. There must have been 50 cars at the trailhead! But after the usual passing of the first herds, we pretty much had the well tromped trail to ourselves and poke our way up to the Rollins Pass road between Forest and Yankee Doodle Lakes. 3 hours to get up and 1 hour for a very nice, non-icey run back down. We hit some of the nice tree runs over to the east of Forest Lakes in pretty decent conditions considering how old the snow pack is.

Nelson Loop clockwise - 23 miles

@20mph. First lunch ride in ages! Nice and sunny and around 50F. Sandy as can be on most road sides but tolerable.

Loveland telemarking

A full family day at Loveland. Still limited in terms of terrain; no ridge, no chairs #8 or #9 and no runs open to the east of #1. Blue sky day with light winds and those awesome Loveland views.

A run here a run there

Did a couple of lunch runs this first full week of 2010. The roads are in bad shape for riding and besides, it's too cold. A run followed by 20 minutes of light lifting is OK though I do miss the buzz of a fast ride.r

Winterpark alpine with the girls

A New Year's Day bash at Winterpark with just Kelly and Leah. They are wiggling like the pros now! A great day on OK coverage; good thing it dumped 14 inches over the last 3 days otherwise the place would be a rock garden. Leah followed me down all the bumps and didn't want to stop while Kelly worked on perfecting her waddling. How fun!
