Centennial Cone Loop Mnt Bike - 12 miles

Image
Awesome 13 mile loop. Smooth single track like nothing in Boulder County. Starting up on the northeast trailhead, the climbing is moderate. Would be a tough one to start down off of Route 6 in Clear Creek Canyon. Saturday ride with Dan Riter.

Lee Hill via Lefthand - 22miles

First ride in a week! Counter-clockwise this time, the 'easy' way. Warm, sunny, a bit of a downsloping breeze and another fire burning just outside of town. This one near Dome Rock and calling for evacuations on the west side of downtown. Oiy.

Green Mountain Loop - 10 miles

Two weekends, two foothill peaks. Last weekend Bear Mnt, this weekend Green Mnt. Snowy skies over the Indian Peaks.

Leehill/Lefthand/Olde Stage-22 miles

It's been over 6 weeks since taking on this loop. Busy busy. Still the finest lunch ride! Colorful swoosh down Lefthand with the cottonwoods peaking and the creek flowing,

Bear Mnt scramble via The Keel

A long but fun excursion from home with Lightly. Kiddos busy with PSAT's and a babysitting class. Hiked from the house up the meadows to the Mesa trail, up Shanahan Canyon to The Keel. Around 1000 feet of soloing up easy class 4 along the ridge of this rock to the base of the North Devils Wing. Thought we might be able to climb that as well but looked too dicey for soloing. Cut to the northwest across slabs and talus to reach the top of Bear Mnt. Awesome views of the snow-capped Indian Peaks and the yellow tufted hillsides of the foothills. Those aspens will be bare by Tues when the next fornt moves in....

Neva Loop - 17miles

Just a short lunch ride today. Warm and no breeze. Unreal fall weather.

Gold Hill Loop - 22miles, 3000ft gain/loss

Sat. Ride with Lightly. Parked at Red Rocks, rode up Four Mile to Gold Hill for coffee then down Sunshine to town. The burn area is wicked....

Walker Ranch Loop - 7.6 miles

A Friday evening, end of the week solo ride. Blustery cold front moved in just before the ride with sprinkles in Boulder but a blanket of white up in the Indian Peaks. Nice! Winter is coming!!! Counter clockwise. The best way to do it, I think. Lots of great single track down hill to the carry by the creek. But then that silly loose dirt road heading back up towards the north really stinks. I had to walk the bike twice along that cause I couldn't get any traction. A couple of dismounts up the hill in the thick pines as well but otherwise a solid ride. This is like a robust Shiraz compared to the box wine of Heil: full-bodied with excellent aerobic climbs, nice single track interspersed with nice little technical moves. Excellent! Forgot how good this loop it!

Heil Ranch Pondarosa and Turkey Tail Loops

After work ride. just made it back before dark. A flat would have been a bummer!
