Morgul Loop clockwise - 19 miles

An early morning ride before breakfast out with the girls at LePeep. That is a killer loop. I was pushing pretty hard and in the end didn't quite make an average of 19 mph. There are seem to be a disproportional amount of uphill - seems like you should be ending the loop at a higher elevation than where you began!

I would be happy living in Australia too! I was while I was there and I would be if the opportunity came again. How's things? Probably still riding like a maniac given the lack of snow on the Mt Buller snowcams :-) We are easing into summer here. The last 4 weeks have been unusually rainy and cool. A very pleasant stretch of weather to push back the fire season since our winter was one of the driest on record down here in the Frontrange. The rains have brought the creeks to life and the grasses and trees are much happier. And with the never-ending storms of the past month, the mountain snowpack has reached close to record levels, well over 200% of normal. It was the second Friday at our reduced work schedule and so the second Friday in a row with an awesome ride under the belt. I vowed to do a new route every Friday for the summer - we'll see if I can meet that goal! Both Fridays have now been devoted to mountain biking. Last week I strung together a series of trails and dirt r

Mt Falcon and Bear Creek Trail Loop out of Morrison

Image
From 2011 Droid Pics and Vids Awesome!! Great ~25 mile loop. Park in Morrison and ride a mile and half to the Mt Falcon trailhead. Then climb like a goat for 3 or 4 miles and up 1600 feet to reach the upper terrain of the park. Beautiful views the whole way up and awesome meadows on the plateau. Then 3 or 4 miles of roads, mostly downhill but at the end up over the hump between Indian Hills and Kittredge to catch the unmarked Bear Creek trail shooting off to the right. And that trail is mostly super fine single track for 8 miles or so, swooping down and traversing with a touch of climbing before dropping fast down to Bear Creek in Liar O'the Bear Park. From there, another 5 or 6 miles of swooping downhill road riding back to Morrison. Nice! From 2011 Droid Pics and Vids

Olde Stage clockwise - 18 miles

Finally time and weather for a lunch ride. The darn construction is still holding things up at the head of the canyon. Should be good once it is done in July. Slow climb but overall good average of around 18.5, which is OK for this ride.

Betasso on foot

After not being at Betasso for 12 years, twice in 24 hours! ! This time with Rachel on foot.

Leftover destruction in the Fourmile Canyon area

Betasso, Logan Hill, Poorman Loop - ~28 miles

Image
From 2011 Droid Pics and Vids 1st Friday on our .9 FTE schedule. And of course the rain is looming... Parked at the head of the canyon and rode the mnt bike with shocks locked out up to the cut by the tunnel. Then up the steep lose stuff to Betasso for the the 6.5 miles of loops up there. Very nice trails! Single track in great shape with easy climbs and nice views of the foothills. Then onward up to near the summit of Sugarloaf Rd to cut north up over and down Mnt Pine Rd to Arkansas Mnt Rd to Logan Hill Rd. Had a fun encounter with a fox up by the top. Down Fourmile to Poorman for the shortish climb over to Sunshine. All in all around 4 hours of nice, leisurely riding on new trails and roads. And no rain despite the heavy gray skies.

Misc rides to work, lots of push ups..

Too much rainy weather this May!! Between the endless meetings to deal with our budget and the rainy weather, I'm losing my aerobic capacity!!

Niwot/95th/Lookout - 20 miles

Windy ass day... Zip out to Niwot with a lean to the west to Lookout. Then a fateful of breeze home.

Niwot Loop - 18 miles at 21mph

Oh yeah. Felt good to do a solo ride and to blow off some steam during these days of duress in the office. I need more...

Loveland teli'ing with Alex and Seth

My 3rd last day of the season! And in mid winter conditions too. Just killer good fresh powder on a packed powder base. The moguls were soft and fun!
