Morgul Loop with a swing into town - 25 miles

Had to shuttle a van from the Millenium to the Homewood for an evening airport run (picking up folks from Barbados and Indonesia for a workshop). Headed out on Baseline to Cherryvale to reach the Morgul loop. No wind and warm but then, ugh, the wind whips up as I get up on 128. In your face, 20 mph+, hurten stuff.

Bear Mnt - 9+ mile hike with Rach

Back at altitude after arriving home from sea level (Florida) late last night. The usual Fern Canyon ascent with icy trail on the ridge. Down via Shadow Canyon, which was sunny and snow/ice free and around on the Mesa Trail and South Shannahan Trail back to the house. Nice!! Blue skies, chilly breeze, but warm sun and killer views of the snow covered Indian Peaks.

Florida Holiday Trip: Cayo Costa, Echerd College, Jupiter - Nov 19-25

Flew out on our favorite midnight red eye direct to Miami. On the road by 7:30am Saturday morning heading west and north to Pine Island and the boat to Cayo Costa. Spent 3 beautiful days on this outer island paradise, staying in a bunk bed hut and enjoying the beach, kayaking, and reading. Side trip up to St Petersburg to take a college tour of Echard, a bit country clubby but nice, then a drive east across the peninsula to Jupiter. Cow country! But with palm trees. Always surprising to see the back country of this state as it is really rural and agricultural. A pleasant few days with Omi and Opi capped off with a Peruvian lunch and gelato in South Beach with Yoly and Joe before catching our flight home on Friday eve.
