Switzerland Trail, Gold hill Rd, Nederland, Magnolia - 56 miles

Image
Well now that was a good ride! Rachel is off on a hut trip, Kelly is in Mexico, and Leah had a sleep over. Leaving me with an incredible mid-Mach Saturday, 75F, blue sky day to go ride. I slept in, having gone to bed with thoughts of a road ride up to Lyons, Peak to Peak, Sugarloaf or something along those lines. But then this morning, as I was getting the road outfit together, I decided to take advantage of the early spring conditions to hop on the mountain bike instead. The roads will be there all spring but with the current lack of snow, I thought I should take advantage. And it was worth it!! 75th/Nelson/36

Another beautiful lunch ride this week! 70F, sunny, just a touch of a breeze to keep you honest. Nice!! Just as I get to Lefthand, Al comes along from his Leehill descent and we cruised back to the office together.

Leehill, Lefthand, Neva, Spine loop - 28 miles

A long lunch ride with the first good climb of the season. Hit the top of the second crest at 44 minutes. I think that's pretty comprable to to last year. I'll have to take note this spring as the season ramps up. Always so good to get out for a longer ride on a nice day. It puts work into good perspective :-)

1st Flat of the year!!!

Long ride home from work on a 65F March day...Out on Isabel, south on 75th, west on Baseline, south on Cherryvale, north on .... pffffssst..... flatted near the South Boulder Creek Trailhead. Nice ride anyways though.

Loveland with Leah

First day of the year at Loveland. Maybe the last??? Conditions were marginal with icy south slopes and not a lot of snow anywhere! Too warm these past few days. It was supposed to warm up into the low 40's and that would have given us spring conditions. Instead, the clouds blocked the sun and things didn't warm up enough for us to stick around. A couple of hours is all we could take.

Tour de Boulder with Rachel

A repeat of our fall ride looping around Boulder via dirt trails, bike paths, and a few roads. Killer day for early March with highs near 70! Sweet ride, mellow pace, great day to take in the good life here.

A couple of days of Mary Jane on downhill boards

With the 'new' skis, lots of muscle to do bumps all day. Spent the 2 Sundays with tunes and myself (mostly) hitting up the bumps on Mary Jane. So nice!
