Bear Canyon/Blue Stem Loop - 6miles

A slushy Sat AM hike with Rach.

Managers Loop plus - 16.5miles, 21mph

The calm before the storm - sort of. Tonight's forecast: rain turning to snow by midnight; 1-2 feet by Thursday AM. But not today: 50's and jsut a slight northeasterly breeze.

Backporch, East Face 5.6

Rach and I abandoned the kiddos for 4 hours on this windy Sat AM to climb the steepest east face in the Flatirons. It's a really neat hike up to the formation from the Mallory Cave trail. The woods and rocks are cool. And the winds and lack of sun made for a cool morning of belaying the 2 and quarter pitches. Yet another exciting 100+ft, mostly free hanging rappel off of two solid bolts on the west side of the summit.

36/St Varin/75th - 28miles, 20.5mph

Beautiful crisp fall day, sun, 51F. Long and fast ride with grand fall colors and white tipped mountain backdrop.

Work/lunch run - 4miles

The Independence/57th//Jay/trail loop on a very drizzly day. The best weather for a run!

Eldo Trails Mnt Bike

Worked from home and took advantage over lunch to get a ride in on the Eldo trails. Parked at Marshal and rode south then across 93 to the new trails. Sweet views including the gal that was bare-topped, soaking in the sun on this late fall summer day :-)

Chattaqua Jaunt

An early Saturday AM walk and brunch with Rachel while Kelly took PSATs.

Lookout out/back, Valmont - 16m, 20mph

Cold, foggy day around 40F. Nice and fast and not much sweat. Had to rush cut it short with a turn around on Lookout due to a 1PM meeting.

South Boulder Peak in the fog and snow - 8+miles

Yet another solo jaunt, this one a rare solo hike on a Saturday. Crummy cold winter weather, first of the year, with socked in skies and 3 inches of snow on the ground. Left the house at 10:30 to hike up Bear Mt, over to South Boulder Peak, then down Shadow Canyon to return via the Mesa Trail by 2:30. Only came across a handful of people on this icy day. Very nice in that way. Haven't been up on SoBoPeak in ages! I can't wait to go back with views as I couldn't see more than a few hundred yards through the thick, supercooled droplets.

Niwot/95th/Lookout - 19miles, 1 hour

A cool day with a strong need for a lunch ride. The usual solo stint. Not a lot of riding time this week. My work schedule with meetings is killing the ride effort.

Seal Rock

A family outing up Seal Rock. A 4-some up to the shoulder where Leah and I bailed out so that Rach and Kelly could more quickly boogie up to the top and to avoid the terror of the rappel for Leah :-) Cool temps in the 50's but mostly blue skies and yellow leaves with great views and a relaxing attitude by all.

Flagstaff Overlook ride

A short post-work climb up to the overlook. I sure did want to do more but I didn't leave work early enough and I had to get Leah from violin at 6. Still a good ride and I did stop to take in the mnt views.
