63rd/Nelson/Lefthand/Olde Stage - 25.5 miles

It was going to be a long ride. But then I got on the road and it felt cold with the heavy gray clouds and all. So then it was going to be a short ride. But then I started getting into it, happy to be away from the fricken desk and inbox. So then it became a long ride with a need to do a climb. All in all a really good escape from work.

BVI Sailing Trip

A week of sailing our own bareboat out of Road Town, British Virgin Islands from Sunday eve, March 22 through Monday morning, March 29. Heaven. Warm water, lots of snorkeling, beautiful islands to explore, excellent winds, fun boat to sail. View BVI Sailing March 2010 in a larger map

Tele day at Eldora

A foot of fresh but blue skies today, the day before a trip to the BVI!

Lookout to 75th to Baseline to Creek path - 21@20

Last ride before spring break. Warm, sunny, nicely swept shoulders for the most part.

Olde Stage counterclockwise - 18miles @18mph

First day in the 60's this year! Sunny with a light breeze.

Commando Run

With the girls slated for sleepovers, it was finally time for an early Saturday escape to do Commando Run. Alex, Varda and Seth joined us. We got to the parking area by 7:15, paid our $6 per person snow mobile containment fee, and were off skinning towards Shrine Pass in the early morning sun by 7:45 or so. Warm, blue skies, plenty of snow, well-marked trail, fun skate skiing on the roads, steep and blood-warming climbing, excellent views, and a drop into the back bowls of Vail for a ride to the top and ski down the front. Can't go wrong with that! Hitched a ride with fellow Commondos back up to the Pass to get the van by 4PM. View Commando Run in a larger map

Niwot to 95th to Isabelle - 21 miles, 1hour

Finally got motivated to get on the bike. I just need to give myself a kick in the ass to get chnaged and out the door!

Deep and fun in Loveland

Well, not too deep. But a good 5 inches of fresh powder and blue skies made for a great day of tele'ing at Loveland with the girls, Alex, Seth and later in the day with Peter and Avril Lewis from Nova Scotia.

North Boulder Dirt Road Ramble

Lunch ride with the old Trek up 55th, across the Boulder Valley Ranch Open Space trails west then north up the Lake Valley neighborhood then up 41st over Oxford to 49th and back on 55th. A bit of goop on the open space trails but so much fun to take in the rural scenery on those dirt roads. I want to live there.

Nelson Loop clockwise - 22.5 miles, 21mph

Strong legs from all the skiing of late! Had a leisurely romp around the flats. First a day with temps in the low 50's in quite a while.
